My Next Book — Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 10, 2026

My Next Book ("the app") is a reading tracker for iPhone operated by Patrick Turner and Jennifer Biggs. This policy describes what information is collected, how it is used, and your choices.

What we collect

How we use it

Sharing

We do not sell or share your personal information with third parties for marketing. The only third parties that handle your data are providers required to operate the app:

AI apps you connect

You can choose to connect an AI app, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your account. Nothing is shared with an AI app unless you connect it yourself and approve it on our consent screen. Once you do, that app can read — and, if you allow changes, update — the same things you can in My Next Book: your shelves and the notes, recommendations and reading-with details on them, your groups and the shelves of people in them, and your ratings. What the AI app then does with that information is governed by its provider's own privacy policy, not this one. We record which apps you've connected and when they were last used. You can disconnect an app at any time from Connected apps or from within the AI app, and deleting your account disconnects them all.

Retention and deletion

Your account and data are retained as long as you keep your account. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the app (Account → Delete account): after confirming with a code emailed to your address on file, your records (account, email addresses, Apple sign-in link, sessions, and books) are removed from the database immediately. You can also contact us at the email below to have your account removed.

Children

This app is not directed to children under 13 and is not intended for their use.
